Patricia Isaac of Rockland, MA has won the Simms Bros Marine Award for "Buoy Bunch" at the 32nd annual Festival of the Arts sponsored by the North River Art Association.
Patricia will also have a solo show of her oil pastel paintings at the Paul Pratt Memorial Library in Cohasset from July 1 - August 28, 2008. There will be an opening reception on July 11, 6 - 8 pm.

Donna Rossetti-Bailey, of Marshfield, MA has won First Prize in the Scituate Art Association Arts Alive! Juried Exhibition for her soft pastel painting “The Glades”. “Rexhame River Pines”, was awarded the Daler-Rowney Award #1, by judge Doug Dawson, in the Fourth Annual National Northeast Pastel Exhibition, at the Arts Center in Old Forge, NY. The exhibit will run through June 8, 2008. Donna has won an Honorable Mention for “Pink Sky Reflections” at the 32nd Annual Festival of the Arts sponsored by the North River Art Association in Marshfield Hills, MA. The Festival will run May 23-25th and the Juried Art Exhibit will hang through June 1, 2008. Donna has also been awarded the Lis-Koopman-Wyman Faculty Award at the South Shore Arts Festival in Cohasset, MA for her pastel, “Webster Street Bog House”. The Festival will run June 13-15 on the Cohasset Town Green.

PAINTED LADIES ART EXHIBIT

What do you get when you combine four award-winning female artists all with a sense of humor, fun, and an affinity for puns?
"The Painted Ladies" - Guild members Susan Benoit and Maria Hopkins of Duxbury, Gayle Loik of Hanover, and Heidi Mayo of Plymouth come together to bring you an eclectic feast of fine art at the South Shore Natural Science Center, 48 Jacobs Lane (just off Rte 123), Norwell, MA, February 29 through April 5, 2008. Meet the artists at an opening reception on Sunday, March 2, from 2:00-4:00pm.

Complementing one another, but each with her own unique style, they are masters (or better yet, mistresses) of their palettes with pastels, watercolor, acrylic, photography and mixed media, creating a cornucopia of works from plein air landscapes to still lifes, portraits, architectural and abstract art.   Free admission. Donna Rossetti-Bailey of Marshfield, MA, has won the “Best of Show” award at the Duxbury Art Association’s 90th Annual Mid-Summer Art Show for her soft pastel painting, “Willowbrook Revisited”. It will remain on  exhibit until  September 14th at the Ellison Center for the Arts in Duxbury.

    Donna will again be teaching classes in soft pastel at South Shore Art Center, North River Arts Society and in the South Shore area, starting in September.  She also runs workshops for teachers and other artists. Heidi Mayo got an honorable mention at the Duxbury Art Association’s 90th Annual Mid-Summer Art Show for her soft pastel painting, “Spring Stream” which will also be appearing in the 40th Annual Juried Show, along with another pastel painting, "Matthew's Rhody".  Heidi teaches kids and adults at the Guild's new arts centers, and enjoys painting with Donna (above) whenever she has the chance.
 

Judy Connor Jones won 3rd place in Fiber for her booth display at the Bruce Museum’s Annual Outdoor Crafts Festival, Greenwich, CT, May 19 and 20, 2007. Ms Jones is a weaver and fiber artist from Plymouth, MA who produces women’s wearables. Her trade mark designs use a spectrum of colors woven into them. The judges, Gregory Clark, owner of Artifacts Design Group, Wilton, CT and Dennis Bradbury, Gallery Owner/Director of 22 Haviland Street Gallery, Norwalk, CT, commented that Ms Jones has a good understanding of the use of color. Judy’s work can be seen on her website, www.judyconnorjones. She will also be exhibiting at “Art on the Green” at The Pinehills, Plymouth, MA on June 16th, rain date June 17th, 2007.

 

Donna Rossetti-Bailey of Marshfield, MA, has won an Honorable Mention Award for her soft pastel, “Sunrise at Humarock Beach” at the Duxbury Winter Juried Show at the Duxbury Art Complex Museum. She has had four pieces of artwork accepted into two national juried exhibits. “Through the Trees” and “Irena’s Geraniums” will be on display the Pastel Society of New Hampshire’s New England Juried Show from June 1 - June 17, at the Red Roof Gallery in Enfield, NH. “October Trees” and “Morning Glow” will be part of at the 2007 Northeast National Pastel Exhibit in Old Forge, NY, June 9 – July 12, 2007. Donna’s work is also part of two current exhibits. Maine Travelers, which runs through May 24, at the Dolphin Gallery in Hingham, MA, includes six pencil drawings and two soft pastels and Oil, Dust and Ashes, at Gallery 297 in Bristol, RI, May 1 – May 31, will include Donna’s soft pastel landscapes. Opening reception, Sunday, May 6, 1 - 3pm.

Two photographs taken by Donna, one of which won second prize, have also been juried into the South Shore Waters: Currents and Solace Photography Exhibit at the MA Audubon Society in Marshfield, MA, which will run April 21 – May 5.
An exhibit entitled Our Point of View, held during the month of March at the South Shore Natural Science Center Vine Hall Gallery, highlighted sixty-four pieces of artwork created by thirty-six of Donna’s students. Donna continues to teach at South Shore Art Center, North River Arts Society and in the South Shore area. She also runs workshops for teachers and other artists. Patricia Isaac of Rockland, MA was awarded the month of April by the North River Arts Society in Marshfield Hills at the annual Calendar Competition. Her oil pastel painting, "Beached on Damon Point", will appear with the month of April in the 2008 calendar, which will be available for sale in May 2008. Patricia was one of 40 finalists who had work juried into the exhibit.
