Mary Beth Maisel
Born in Missouri in 1940, Mary Beth majored in Russian studies and discovered art at Randolph-Macon Woman's College (1958-62). In the mid 1980's she studied artmaking and since 1989 her work has been widely exhibited, including solo shows at the Fuller Museum of Art and North Central Missouri College. She has won awards in juried shows at the Cambridge Art Association, the Newton Art Association, and has been in numerous juried shows including Artcetera, DeCordova Museum's Art in the Park, Cambridge Art Association, Concord Art Association, Two Collection of the Channel Two Auction, as well as non-juried events including the SMFA December Sale where she is a Medici Artist, and Newton Open Studios. Her work is adventurous, colorful, immediate, humorous, contemplative. Her goal is too capture a feeling and invites the viewer to complete the story.
