After working in various media, I chose to focus on exploring the expressive possibilities of the loose flowing effects that one can achieve from watercolor techniques. In my painting I seek to identify the ways that water can interact with line, form, and color to elicit the less obvious aspects of the beauty of our surroundings and the artistic potential of the shapes and interactions of elements in the environment. This design strategy can be seen throughout my work, which has been devoted primarily to portrayals of floral images and rural landscapes
I am a juried member of the Cape Cod Art Association, the Russell Gallery in Plymouth, and the Eastham Painters Guild. My work has also been exhibited and received awards at juried shows sponsored by various other art organizations. Several of my paintings have been selected for publication in recent editions of the Eastham Summer Guide, and I was a finalist several times in the North River Arts Society calendar competition. For many years I served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Helen Bumpus Gallery in Duxbury. I live in Duxbury, although spend much of the spring and summer at my cottage in Eastham on Cape Cod. The natural beauty of both seacoast towns as well as other New England locales can be seen reflected in much of my artistic output.
