What do you get if you add Jello, salt or tea to watercolor; or, if you add acrylic paint to gold foil, glue, paper pulp, or cornflakes? We'll even 'paint' with popcorn! It's a recipe for fun and exciting art. Come and join us.

Soft pastels are like the "dust on butterfly wings" because of the way their brilliant hues catch the light. kids will use art soft pastels to create landscape, still life and wildlife paintings while learning about the elements of composition, line, texture, shape and color, light and shadow. This class will fine tune students’ formal drawing skills to suit the needs of a college freshman core program.  As most art schools require a strong drawing component to a portfolio application, basic drawing, form, space, symmetry, proportion and value will be discussed and implemented. Students will expand on their knowledge of drawing by taking this topic to a more sophisticated and advanced skill level.
